Kenny Kelley's practice focuses on employee benefits, representing public and private benefit plans.
Kenny’s private benefit plan clients consist of multi-employer defined benefit, defined contribution and welfare plans. He assists clients in drafting and amending plan documents, trust agreements and participant notices, negotiating contracts with service providers, and making appeals determinations.
He also advises clients on compliance with ERISA, IRC, Taft-Hartley and the ACA. He has assisted clients through plan audits from the Department of Labor, and assisted pension plan clients through the IRS tax determination process.
On the public side, Kenny works with local boards that participate in Arizona’s Public Safety Personnel Retirement System in performing their obligations under the state statute. He also assists with the review of investment documents and conflicts issues for a public pension fund.
Kenny received his J.D. in 2011 after graduating magna cum laude from California Western School of Law. During his last year in law school, he worked as a judicial extern for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of California, in the Honorable Laura S. Taylor’s chambers. Kenny joined Ryan Rapp Pacheco & Kelley in 2011.
